Text:   Hello Graham, Sorry I have not got back to you before but I am having so much information from Emma Hardings granddaughter Barbara Knight that I feel rather swamped.

  Here is the information:-

  Effie Lavinia and William Harding's children

  Emma b 22/8/1889, m Thomas Beale Wood (From Handsworth, Birmingham) in Gilberton S. Australia on Nov. 1914.d 8/10/1980 (91years) (see attached photos of Albert (87)(Emma's only living son. Emma had 7 children altogether) & Audrey (86) Wood Their marriage in 1942 and pictures of their 65th wedding anniversary 4th April 2007. The other picture is of the daughter Barbara Knight, sons Jay, Tristen, husband Leon and Kirk.Middle row Barbara, Emma Tara and Leela (marrying Karl in Nov. 07. Front row Maddison at her 4th birthday party. Albert is my first cousin and Barbara is my 2nd cousin.


  Ellen b 1891 (see attached photo) She had a daughter called Brenda who had 2 boys Roger & Richard

  Charles Frederick b 1892 (see attached) Charles is the person standing up in the lower right picture. The shop is the Hardings paper shop which was at the lower end of Church Lane at South Yardley although is was down as 1560 Coventry Road South Yardley. The picture of the little girl is my mother Lily which Barbara Knight sent me. This is the only picture I have of her now. See did not like having her picture taken.

  William Henry b 1894, d 9/7/1917 on H.M.S. Vanguard (see attached )

  Albert b 1895 m. Muriel Bott. They had two daughters Sheila and Joan. Sheila m. Bob Smith and they have two children Angela Wade nee Smith and Sallyanne. Angela's children are Matthew (17) and Charlotte (15). Joan has 3 children, Pippa, Imogen, and Tom. Sallyanne has 3 boys are Jonathon, Christopher and Nicholas (not necessarily in that order)

  Thomas Sidney

  Lily b 20/1/1898, d 3/6/62 Children, Edna (1/4/40) Albert (7/4/41) and Geoffrey (6/3/43) - see attached Photo of Edna Lilian Ward to Michael Harvest Green on 8/8/64. Left to right. Arthur Green (Father) Ida Green (Mother), John Bowen, Best Man, Pamela Susan Green (Sister), Mike, Edna, Carole Ward (cousin) and my dad Francis William Albert (Bert) Ward

  Frank he married and I think had two daughters.

  I could go on but I think that is enough information for now. Hope it makes sense.

      About 10 years ago, the part of the Shaddock family that lives in Singleton, New South Wales, compiled a book titled "Fruits of The Shaddock Tree". The book documented all our ancestors that arrived in Australia aboard the S.S Electra. The ship left Liverpool 13th November 1855 and sailed into Port Phillip Bay, Victoria, Australia 1st February 1856. Disembarking at Point Henry near Geelong. (25 minutes from where I currently live). As Louisa married Mark on the 14th November 1855, obviously no time was wasted in creating a new life and family for herself.

      On board the ship were John and Ann Shaddock along with their children with the exception of Louisa Jane who stayed and married her sweetheart Mark Ladbury. Although Louisa had her name on the ships manifest, she obviously decided to stay in England. Lucky for the Ladburys

      No other information is in the book relating to Louisa, so it is great to fill in the missing pieces.

      If you have any information at all on John Shaddock and Ann I would really appreciate it if you could pass it on. I have Ann's maiden name as Whittell you state it is Evans?

      Johns parents were:   Richard SHADDOCK born approx:   1875 and Ann Chambers BADCOCK born 1787. Our GGGG grandparents.
       John BADCOCK and Sarah CHAMBERS being Ann Chambers Badcocks parents.

      John Shaddock is my Great Great Great Grandfather. He married Ann Whittell and went onto have eight children one of which is my great great grandfather Horatio Allison Shaddock. Horatio married Louisa Brandon Beddome.

      If there is a definite link, I will be more than happy to send you the family tree I have created through Horatio and the information I have obtained on the rest of the family.

      John and Ann's children were:

      Ambrose Edgar
      William Henry
      Louisa Jane
      Selina Ann
      Amelia Allison
      Horatio Allison.
