Text: Dear Graham
I apologize for the lateness of this letter. Never time for the pleasures
in life, you know. As far as your request for information on the U.S. Ladbury's
I can only give you what I know of my lineage. Other than that, I'm still
searching myself.
According to the information I have Llewellyn Ladbury was born on April 20,
1825. He immigrated to Canada in 1858 where he lived for 5 years until moving
to Michigan, and then finally to North Dakota. He was married twice. His first
wife was named Harriet Shephard, and his second was Charlotte Brodill.
To his first marriage were born 5 children named Agnes, Eleanor, Charles,
Fred, and Edwin. He also fathered one child in his second marriage. This girl
was called Emma, however, she died childless.
I can now give you the names of spouses and children of all his children but
beyond that, I know only my lineage, which is through Fred.
Agnes married John Taylor and had twelve children, namely John, Ernest, Ed,
Mary A., James, William, Agnes, Margaret, Bert, Joe, Hattie, and Fred.
Eleanor married Thomas Curtis and had three children, Clarence, Freeman, and
Hattie
Charles married Jane Curtis and also had three children, Sophia, William,
and Pearl
Fred (My great grandfather) married Nellie Rhodes and had seven children,
Mae, Fred, Nellie, Ellsworth, Harriet, Elroy, and Clifford.
Edwin married Phila Mosher and had three boys, Maxwell, Harry, and Ernest.
Now as I was saying this is all the rest I know of the Ladbury lineage in
the U.S.
Fred (Llewellyn's son) and Nellie had a son named Fred. This Fred married
Pauline DePue and had two sons. Namely Jack (My father) born Oct. 30 1937 and
Leo.
Jack married Lois Flach and also had two boys named Randy (me) born Nov. 22,
1956 and Terry born March 3, 1962.
And finally I am married to Karen Ladbury and have two children named Jared
born Aug. 12, 1981 and Ashley born Aug. 9, 1986.
There are some gaps in this information that I will be able to fill in once
I talk to my mother more on this matter. If you want I can give you birthdates
of Fred Jr., and Leo, plus Leo's spouse name and children. However, for now
this is what I can give you. If you want anymore information, don't hesitate to
contact me.
